A book not just for all UPSC candidates but also for anyone giving competitive exams, How I Topped the UPSC is a no-holds barred book full of so many hacks and so much honesty β you wonβt need anything else to succeed.
Gamini Singla stood all India third in the UPSC CSE 2021 exam rankings. Just a year before, she didnβt even make it past the first stage β the Prelims. What did she do differently this time? In this book, Gamini gives you all her strategies and also the lessons she learnt from her mistakes β from exactly how to plan your day, take effective notes, to exercise routines while you study. But most importantly, she argues that preparing psychologically for the exams, from dealing with self-doubt and anxiety to building confidence, is what will take you across the finish line.
In this book, Gamini Singla Ma'am has discussed or explain all her experiences during preparation. Not much inspiring because she is from very well to do family like she has mentioned in her book for her study on house roof how they immediately modify their room just to get sunlight in winter. My favorite Chapter was "No Excuse policy" in this she has explained very clearly that your Why must be crystal clear and you have to do your hard work irrespective of your circumstances. In second part she has shared her daily routines and her Book list as well. Gujan,Thakur.
Gamini Singla did her graduation in BTech Computer Science from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh in 2019. Post that, she started her UPSC preparation and secured all India Rank 3 in CSE in her second attempt in 2021. Currently, she is undergoing training as an IAS officer.
