The book was taken up to explore the effects of agricultural mechanization on rural landless and land poor livelihood opportunities, as well as local level socioeconomic variability, drivers, and influence on securing nonfarm opportunity in Tamil Nadu. Tiruchirappalli district was selected for the current study because it has born Cauvery canal irrigated and non-canal irrigated paddy area in Tamil Nadu. The results showed that utilization of farm machinery among the respondents is low. Therefore, it seems to be a good option to set up field demos to promote these tools among the farming community that may hasten awareness and acceptance.
