The premise of the story is that we can find strength in our differences. Maya sees the beauty and strength in all her friends despite her inability to see. Despite Maya not being able to see, she sees the best in all of her friends. This is a book about inclusion and highlighting the strength children have.
Lance Fresquez is a small-town gentleman that loves his family and friends more than anything in this world. His journey in writing was inspired by his beloved son, Owen.
