PRODUCT INFORMATION

Description

I usually travel in or near the Rocky Mountains. There are so many places there to go and to see, I cannot possibly visit them all on one lifetime. To return to a place I have already been means one more new place I will never see. And yet, there are so many places I know and love that draw me back. These are a few of those places. This book is partly a travelogue, including descriptions of campgrounds and the surrounds, but it is also impressions, feelings, ideas, what I experienced at each, philosophy and lessons to be learned. I want you to not only know what to expect physically, but also to get an idea of what I felt at each. It is such a large part of the outdoor experience, and usually ignored in books of this sort. The chapters are arranged more or less in a loop; you could travel from one to another in sequence, and visit them all in one glorious summer, staying about a week at each. But you will fall in love with some of them, and a week will not be enough. Also, some are better visited in Spring or Fall. Do not try La Posa in the Summer! Unless you live on the road, as I do, you might want to split them up and take two or three years to do them all. Besides, you will certainly discover others, just as good, maybe better. They are out there. You cannot possibly find them all.
