A collection of poems which, through symbolism and subliminal messages, share insights into the key issues which affect us all in our day to day lives. From spirituality and relationships, to domestic abuse and mental health matters, the poems endeavour to shine a light on the lived realities that we as a society still struggle to openly discuss because of the stigma and wider consequences involved.
Nazmin Akthar is a British-Bangladeshi, Muslim lawyer, women's rights activist and most importantly, mother to her beautiful little muse. Passionate about issues of equality and social justice, she is heavily involved in charitable activities, whether through being a trustee, co-founding an international grant-giving charity, being a fundraiser, law reform campaigner or by promoting corporate social responsibility in the workplace. In her writings, Nazmin takes inspiration from her daily life and surroundings to bring together the words that best encompass her thoughts and feelings on societal issues.
