Especially if students don't have outlets for their creativity or sorrows. For Roland Hesmondhalgh, there wasn't any outlet at the Florida Institute of Technology. Kicked out of the student paper and suddenly deemed ineligible for much of his financial aid after discovering multiple ethical violations and crimes, he turned to satire to stay sane.
Many of the stories he wrote to entertain students and spite the university are gathered here. Providing a time capsule of humor and institutional mishandling, the stories are humorous at the surface and decidedly dark with the understanding of history and context.
