William Morris is perhaps best known today for the beautiful textile designs he created under the banner of Morris & Co, which continue to decorate homes around the globe. William Morris (1834–96) was a British designer, poet, artist, publisher and novelist, best known today for the immensely popular Morris & Co he established and designed for. A dedicated socialist, Morris's political poetry, lectures and essays helped to establish the movement as a going concern in the UK.
