Revised and updated edition! There are many books about famous bands and rock stars out there, but whatever happened to those musicians that did not become famous? These are the experiences of drummer-singer George Michael Duli (alias Garrett) and guitarist-singer Richard Greiner (alias Lawton). They were on a crazy and unpredictable U.S. road tour in 1978, but as they were buddies and played in bands together in high school, their reminiscences go way back. What started out as a simple e-mail memory exchange grew into this book. If you have ever wondered what happened to all those club bands and musicians you (or your parents) used to go out to see, listen, and dance to (or even hang out with) back in the 70s, read on. You might get a clue from this book!
George was a pro drummer-singer with many years U.S. road and studio experience throughout the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. He did film work in Hollywood during the 1980s as an extra; credits include Torchsong Trilogy and the original TV film The Return of the Incredible Hulk. Educated in radio and TV production, he has done voice-overs for radio, TV, film, and Internet in the U.S. and Europe, as well as technical writing. He currently lives in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with his Dutch wife. Rick was a pro guitarist, composer, and songwriter. He relocated to Nashville in 1981 to pursue his song publishing and became well known playing the club circuit. He was also a vintage guitar expert; his Guitar Closet guitar shop located on Nashville's legendary Music Row quickly became a Nashville and Internet success. Rick rambled on to Daytona, Florida and Seattle, Washington before finally resettling along the coastal San Diego area in 2006. Sadly, Rick died on Thursday March 4, 2010 in Encinitas, California of cancer.
