In this context, multiple antennaarchitectures are a promising solution which providewireless systems with a high degree of functionality,adaptability, capacity, and robustness. However,efficient use of these systems is possible only bysolving a number of critical problems.In this manuscript, we focus on coding performanceand capacity analysis of multiple antenna systems.Knowledge in these areas provides us with guidelinesinto analysis and design of systems, reveals inherentlimitations, pinpoints problems and opportunities forimprovement, and also allows for rigorous argumentand justification of observations. In this regard,performance limitsand error bounds for space-time codes are discussed,along with guidelines for systematic design ofspace-time codes in the presence of the channelcorrelation profile. Moreover, a unified approach tothe capacity analysis of multiple antenna channels ispresented.
