Description

I know what you're thinking, "another boring textbook… and about scientific writing at that. PASS!" Well, let me stop you right there, because I guarantee you've never read a book like this.

Foundations of Scientific Writing in Kinesiology helps students tackle one of the hardest tasks out there: producing a well-written product (and not some piece of garbage your parents would be embarrassed to hang on their fridge). This textbook equips students with the knowledge they need to produce a variety of written deliverables, such as lab reports, conference abstracts, proposals, peer-reviewed publications, and more. Featuring an easy-to-read, engaging, and humorous approach to the subject, the book is as approachable as it is essential.

The book provides a thorough breakdown of the writing process, beginning with searching for and selecting credible literature, continuing with formatting articles and citing references, and concluding with advice on navigating the submission process and disseminating results. Meticulously covering the mechanics of writing—from sentence structure to data visualization—this book demystifies the process of writing.

Emphasizing practical application and the continuous development of skills over time, Foundations of Scientific Writing for Kinesiology is ideal for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, as well as courses in scientific writing, research methods, lab techniques, or any course requiring a writing component.
