This is the best book I've read so far this year & I've read quite a few. This is my favourite genre - who couldn't love a disturbed heroine, lusty hero and dragons to boot! I love the world Ms Parker has imagined for us - I remember feeling the same when I first read Dragon riders of Pern-Anne McCaffrey. With WTMH, I loved the characters and the integrated storylines, plots, fight scenes. I literally CANNOT wait for 'the ballad of falling dragons'. I have pre ordered this.
AND I am a Kiwi - Ms Parker has renewed my faith in Aotearoa that we could have an acclaimed fantasy fiction writer equal if not better than writers anywhere in the world. We claim her and she is only on loan to Australia :)
NOTE I have rated this book 5 stars, if there were 10, I would give it 11.
